Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Night Lights!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pena tries to bum rush Lights with a series of wild strikes but Lights uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
It seemed like Lights was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Lights takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
A punch combination from Pena misses.
Pena throws a right hand that Lights ducks under and follows up with a left that Lights also avoids with ease.
Pena throws a left and a right that both miss
and Lights counters with a stiff right hand.
A combination from Pena does no damage.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lights! But no joy.
Pena fails to land with a series of punches.
Pena closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
I was talking to Pena's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Lights struggles to land a body shot inside as Pena controls his hands.
Pena's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pena throws a body kick that misses.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lights fails to pull guard.
Lights misses with a hook to the ribs.
Lights is trying to pull guard but Pena has him pressed against the cage.
Pena breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pena connects with a jab.
Pena cracks Lights with an open hand slap.
A nice combination there by Pena.
Jorge Pena is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lights looks winded!
Pena moves into range and clinches up with Lights.
Pena manages to break the clinch.
Pena fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lights has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Lights blocks a head kick by Pena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pena misses with a series of wild punches.
Lights is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Pena thuds his shin into the meat of Lights's side.
Pena has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pena breaks the clinch.
Pena misses with the combination.

Pena lands with a slapping head kick.
Pena tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pena scores with a kick to the midsection.
Pena clinches with his opponent.
Pena escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lights closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Pena connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
A left and a right from Pena both land. Nice combination.
Pena rushes Lights and presses him up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lights's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pena explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Pena throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lights dodges the punch combination from Pena.
Pena throws out a powerful jab.
Pena clinches up against the cage.
Pena gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lights.
Jorge Pena has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Night Lights.
Lights can't find room to land a body shot as Pena controls the action.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jorge Pena dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A big right followed by a crushing left from Pena knocks Lights out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
