PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Black (ranked 4145 p4p, 4142 weight class) and Mykel Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen Lil darkie PROD. WENDIGO as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson has his takedown stuffed

and Black counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Black could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Johnson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Black tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Black to the ground. Black escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Black shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Black gets slowly back to his feet.

Johnson darts in looking for a takedown but Black gets double underhooks and turns Johnson into the cage.

And Black counters with a quick kick to the body but Johnson blocks it.
Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Black shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Johnson as he avoids it easily.
Johnson goes for a double leg but Black avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Black continues to drive forward.

Johnson is pressed up against the cage. Black has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Johnson down to the mat. Johnson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Black forces Johnson back against the cage and clinches.
