Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boyka Kersikov (ranked 1651 p4p, 1599 weight class) and Dag Schotel (ranked 221 p4p, 215 weight class). Kersikov comes to the cage accompanied by Nosferatu - When Angels Cry. Boyka Kersikov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boyka Kersikov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dag Schotel!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kersikov gets caught flat footed, as Schotel shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kersikov pulls Schotel in close to his closed guard and prevents Schotel from doing any damage or advancing position.
Schotel wants to pass the guard but Kersikov is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kersikov working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Schotel.
Kersikov keeping full guard, as Schotel tries to pass.
Kersikov has control of Schotel's left arm, preventing Schotel from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kersikov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Schotel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kersikov has time to react.

Schotel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Schotel lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kersikov is trying to control but can't.

Schotel moves into full mount! Kersikov won't be happy about that!

Kersikov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Schotel is working away from the top position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schotel is thwarting Kersikov's attempts to control the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Schotel wants to free his trapped foot but Kersikov is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Kersikov is looking to improve his position.
Dag Schotel is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Schotel is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kersikov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Schotel.
Schotel winds up and cracks Kersikov with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Kersikov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Schotel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I've got Schotel winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
