Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akahoshi Hisashi (ranked 2720 p4p, 24140 weight class) and RJ Lucy (ranked 344 p4p, 566 weight class). Hisashi comes to the cage accompanied by Feng Shui. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, RJ Lucy!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hisashi misses with a hook.
Hisashi has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gold Samurai's Gym in the buildup to the fight.

Akahoshi Hisashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hisashi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lucy looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hisashi misses with a lunging right hand
and Lucy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hisashi misses the shot to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lucy! But no joy.
Hisashi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lucy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hisashi.
Hisashi throws a right and a left that Lucy avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hisashi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lucy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Hisashi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lucy manages to avoid it.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Hisashi just misses with a elbow thrown towards Lucy's brow.

Hisashi lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hisashi.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hisashi digs a right hand underneath Lucy's ribcage. Lucy let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Hisashi keeps control of Lucy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
