Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between King Trevena (ranked 24731 p4p, 3371 weight class) and Maxton Hefferman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hefferman is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: enemies. Maxton Hefferman will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trevena keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
It appears Trevena was looking to counter with a kick there.
Trevena throws a sloppy head kick and Hefferman moves out of range easily.
Hefferman throws a series of strikes that have Trevena backpedaling.
Maxton Hefferman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hefferman scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Hefferman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Trevena as he avoids it easily.

Hefferman forces Trevena back against the cage and clinches.

Hefferman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Trevena sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hefferman somewhat.

We've been informed that Hefferman has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Hefferman wants to sweep but no luck.

Hefferman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Trevena defends it easily.

Maxton Hefferman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Hefferman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Trevena doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Trevena manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hefferman seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Trevena bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Hefferman lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Trevena misses with a kick to the body.
Hefferman dives in for a single leg takedown but Trevena sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Trevena lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Trevena looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Hefferman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Trevena takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
