Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mack Zack (ranked 23751 p4p, 3771 weight class) and Prime Asiago (ranked 0 p4p, 412 weight class). Asiago has chosen 300 Violin Orchestra as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zack takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Asiago misses with an uppercut.
Asiago thows a leg kick but Zack checks it

and Zack counters with a nice double leg into side control. Asiago won't be happy with that.

Zack goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Asiago has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Zack but great work by Asiago.

Asiago stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Zack darts in and clinches Asiago up against the cage.
Asiago managing to block the knees to the body from Zack.

Zack has his foot on Asiago's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Asiago works his way back into a safe position though.

Zack controls Asiago momentarily but Asiago frees himself.

Zack stalks Asiago and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Asiago's face. Asiago staggers backwards, shaken.
Asiago fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zack manages to avoid it.
Zack feinted with a counter takedown.
Asiago throws a head kick that misses.
Asiago throws a head kick but Zack moves out of range.
Prime Asiago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zack closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Zack wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Asiago, who protects the arm well.

Asiago tries to improve position but can't.

Zack tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Zack has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zack drives through and clinches with Asiago against the cage.

Zack ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Zack no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Zack shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Asiago manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Zack wants to control from the top but Asiago keeps moving.

Zack drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Asiago dives on top into guard.

Asiago got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zack has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Asiago has managed to get both his arms back between Zack's legs - danger averted.

Zack is working an open guard so Asiago takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Zack dives in for a single leg takedown but Asiago sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Zack lands with a short shot to the head.
Asiago misses with a short punch on the inside.

A close round but Prime Asiago will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Zack looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Zack gets control of Asiago's arms and successfully pulls guard. Zack will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Asiago wants to stand but Zack is controlling his posture from full guard.

Zack had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Asiago defends it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Asiago throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Zack counters with a single leg into guard. Asiago didn't expect that.

Asiago displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Zack.

Zack feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zack is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Asiago is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Asiago has escaped and now he's on top!

Zack pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Asiago misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Asiago misses with a wild body shot.
Prime Asiago is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Zack changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Asiago looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Zack thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

As Asiago backs away, Zack returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zack wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

A close second round but Prime Asiago will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Zack shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Asiago napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Asiago explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Prime Asiago seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Zack throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Asiago escapes and throws Zack's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Asiago has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Nice uppercut lands for Asiago. That snapped Zack's head back.
Zack lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Zack gets a clinch.
Come on Zack - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Zack is trying to pull guard but Asiago turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Asiago tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Asiago is fighting off a takedown attempt but Zack is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Asiago to the mat. Asiago regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
