Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wingers Son (ranked 1285 p4p, 2732 weight class) and Lefty Johnson (ranked 73 p4p, 151 weight class). Johnson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Masturbate by Outlaw. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lefty Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Son pushes Johnson up against the cage in a clinch.
Son tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Johnson smiles and moves away.

Johnson instigates a clinch.

Son ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Son no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Johnson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Son is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Son lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Son tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Johnson is trying to control Son's posture but Son avoids it.

Son swings around for an armbar but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Son's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Son has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.
Johnson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Son has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've been informed that Johnson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Son working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Son jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Johnson walks away with a smile on his face. Son gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
