Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Balal Lama (ranked 1702 p4p, 2484 weight class) and Marwin Mueller (ranked 213 p4p, 291 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Balal Lama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marwin Mueller!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lama moves out of range as Mueller strikes.
Mueller displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lama.
Mueller looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Lama changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mueller tries to avoid it but Lama manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mueller to the ground. Mueller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lama throws a right hand that Mueller ducks under and follows up with a left that Mueller also avoids with ease.
Mueller throws out a counter right but Lama avoids it with no problem.
Lama throws a lazy uppercut
and Mueller counters with a nice body shot.
Mueller leaves Lama with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Balal Lama. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lama wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

We've been hearing that Lama has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Mueller tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mueller can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lama postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mueller looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lama is one step ahead there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lama is really struggling to control Mueller but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lama won't allow Mueller to sweep him here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mueller has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Marwin Mueller has been cut.

Lama tries to keep at a distance but Mueller has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lama wants a takedown.
Lama blocking some punches.
Mueller lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Lama misses with a hook to the ribs.
Mueller keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lama's efforts to push away.

Mueller has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lama regains guard immediately.

Mueller is working Lama over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Mueller must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Mueller working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Mueller connects with a couple of short punches.
Mueller lands a couple of elbows.

Lama is looking to cinch up a triangle. Mueller throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Lama's body to avoid the submission. Lama has instead reached around Mueller's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Lama arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
