The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McSweeney fails with an attempt to clinch.
Griffin throws a hook but McSweeney avoids it easily.
Griffin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McSweeney throws a head kick that half lands.

McSweeney manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Griffin is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! McSweeney is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! McSweeney has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griffin has his foot on McSweeney's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McSweeney works his way back into a safe position though.
Griffin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
McSweeney wants to control from the top but Griffin keeps moving.

McSweeney content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Griffin has locked up a guillotine! Griffin's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? McSweeney is holding on here and Griffin must be using up a lot of energy. McSweeney has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Griffin gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
