Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kip Stern (ranked 3425 p4p, 6034 weight class) and Paul Hogan (ranked 380 p4p, 493 weight class). Stern's entrance music is Fight. A fine choice. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stern ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hogan moves away.
Stern looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Hogan cracks Stern with a good jab.
Paul Hogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Hogan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Stern steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hogan.

Hogan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stern.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hogan connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Hogan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Stern slips a straight right by Hogan.
Kip Stern is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hogan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hogan throws out a leg kick but Stern moves out of range and Hogan only half commits.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stern is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Hogan.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hogan crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Stern - the referee stops the clock and Hogan gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Stern. Hogan manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Stern presses Hogan against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Hogan takes a shot to the head.

Stern lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Stern lands with a short shot to the head.
Stern will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hogan up against the cage.

Stern lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Hogan.

A left hand lands to the body for Stern.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stern lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Stern throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Stern lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Stern works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Stern has Hogan pressed against the cage.
Stern scores with a shot to the side of Hogan's head.
Stern lands an uppercut.
Hogan is still on wobbly legs! Can Stern finish him?
Stern creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Hogan's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Hogan drops to his knees and Stern pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kip Stern!
A relieved looking Kip Stern thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
