Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sao Alela (ranked 2078 p4p, 2713 weight class) and Nico DiAngelo (ranked 267 p4p, 329 weight class). Alela comes into the arena with Cryin' Like a Bitch blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alela lands a leg kick that knocks DiAngelo off balance momentarily.
Alela lands with a kick to the temple. DiAngelo shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
DiAngelo goes for a double leg but Alela avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Alela continues to drive forward.
Alela lands a straight punch to the body, keeping DiAngelo at a distance.
Alela misses the jab.
A countering left hand to the body from DiAngelo misses.
A good leg kick by Alela.
A nice inside leg kick there by Alela. That's going to slow DiAngelo down.

DiAngelo has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
DiAngelo tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Alela lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Alela shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alela showed some decent athleticism there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alela is trying to control the action in half guard but DiAngelo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
DiAngelo is pressing down on Alela's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alela wants to control from the top but DiAngelo keeps moving.

Alela drops back looking for a leg! DiAngelo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and DiAngelo manages to kick Alela off! Alela jumps back into DiAngelo's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

DiAngelo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Alela gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Alela slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Alela postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
DiAngelo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alela manages to get himself to full guard.

Alela wants to stand and escape but DiAngelo is having none of it.
DiAngelo postures up in Alela's guard and throws a big left but Alela blocks it.

Alela pushes DiAngelo off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Horrible takedown attempt by DiAngelo or perhaps it was just good defense by Alela, which made it look bad.
Alela throws out a powerful jab.
DiAngelo walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Alela lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
A solid leg kick lands there for Alela.
Alela connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Alela throws a lazy uppercut
and DiAngelo counters with a nice leg kick.
DiAngelo tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Alela swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Alela throws a combination. DiAngelo tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A lazy left from Alela finds it's target.
Alela lands with a straight right. DiAngelo didn't see that one coming.

The fighters circle momentarily. Alela darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
DiAngelo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Alela.

DiAngelo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Alela did well to prevent DiAngelo getting side control.

DiAngelo seems to be working for a kimura but Alela defends the submission attempt.

Alela makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Alela cracks DiAngelo with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! DiAngelo falls to his knees and Alela doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
