Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rudi Roberts!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Columbo Gatti and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts throws a push kick but Austin slaps the foot to one side.
Austin has a takedown stuffed.
Austin shoots for a double leg takedown but Roberts sprawls well. He's pushed Austin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Roberts tries to land a front kick but Austin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Roberts misses with a body kick.

Austin looking to score a takedown here. Roberts is defending well but Austin drives through and ends up in Roberts's guard.
Roberts looking to hit a scissor sweep but Austin is one step ahead there.
Roberts is still trying to improve position.
Austin pushing down on Roberts's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Roberts moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Austin tries to free his leg and advance position but Roberts is retaining full guard.
Roberts is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Roberts is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Roberts is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Austin slips nicely into half guard.

Austin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Roberts defends it well.
Roberts trying to control but Austin postures up.
Austin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roberts on the ground.
Austin is looking to advance position but Roberts won't allow it.

Austin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Austin is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Roberts reverses the position - he's now on top in Austin's guard.
Roberts trying to control but Austin is working from the bottom.

Austin has his foot on Roberts's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Roberts works his way back into a safe position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Austin is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Roberts has his hands clasped together but Austin extends and breaks Roberts's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Austin.
