PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between mikki Hiiri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Touko Pouko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Touko Pouko will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pouko shoots in and bounces Hiiri off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Pouko throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hiiri works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Pouko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Pouko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hiiri swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hiiri throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Pouko is pushing down on Hiiri's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hiiri is fighting to maintain full guard but Pouko has managed to sneak the leg through.

Pouko is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hiiri is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hiiri has escaped and now he's on top!

Pouko is working an open guard so Hiiri takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Pouko decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pouko misses with a takedown attempt - Hiiri sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Pouko had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hiiri is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pouko Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hiiri's back instead.
Pouko is not going to allow Hiiri to sit and survive in this position.
Hiiri tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
