The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Souza has taken the fight to the clinch.
Noodlelegs fails to pull guard.
Souza throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Noodlelegs blocks it with crossed arms.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Maybe Souza would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.
Noodlelegs avoids a wild elbow strike from Souza.
Souza wants a takedown.
Noodlelegs jumps guard but Souza stands there with Noodlelegs around his waist. Noodlelegs gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Souza.
Noodlelegs blocks the elbow strike.

Souza breaks the clinch.
No luck for Souza with that takedown attempt.
Noodlelegs avoids the body shot from Souza.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Despite being in the dominant position, Johnny Noodlelegs just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Souza moves in looking to clinch but Noodlelegs pushes him off.
Noodlelegs misses the shot to the body.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Souza tries to clinch up.

Noodlelegs shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Souza has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Noodlelegs. Oh but Souza has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Noodlelegs goes limp - he's gone! Souza jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
