PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Theron Roark (ranked 3494 p4p, 4520 weight class) and Ben Askrew (ranked 0 p4p, 518 weight class). Roark has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Theron Roark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Askrew!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askrew uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Roark.
And Askrew tries to counter it with a takedown but Roark pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Askrew wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Roark, who protects the arm well.

Askrew tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Askrew has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Roark has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
