Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julian Avila (ranked 2080 p4p, 2353 weight class) and Rico Rodriguez (ranked 269 p4p, 301 weight class). Rodriguez has chosen Latin Lingo as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Julian Avila!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rico Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Avila missing with a left hand there. Rodriguez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rodriguez.
Rodriguez fails with the takedown
and Avila counters with a stiff right hand.
Rodriguez misses with a takedown attempt - Avila sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Julian Avila has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rico Rodriguez.
Avila stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Avila wants it to stay on the feet.
Rodriguez shoots for a takedown but Avila saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Avila throws a quick counter kick to the body but Rodriguez avoids it.
Avila throws a nice inside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodriguez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Avila counters with a straight right hand.
Avila scores with a shot to the body.
Rodriguez shoots and misses
and Avila counters with a nice uppercut.
Rodriguez tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodriguez moves forwards but Avila connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Avila lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Rodriguez has a takedown stuffed.
Rodriguez's coach down at Gold Samurai's Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rodriguez's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Rodriguez fails with the takedown.
Rodriguez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Avila counters with a huge left! Rodriguez is in big trouble! He's backing up but Avila isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Rodriguez from any more damage. A dominating finish by Avila!
