Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Bones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stig Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bones is able to avoid easily.
Johnson looks to land a combination but Bones avoids it well.
Johnson keeps the fight on the outside.
Bones moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off.

Johnson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bones manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bones pulls Johnson in close to his closed guard and prevents Johnson from doing any damage or advancing position.

Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bones walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Johnson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bones takes a jab right on the kisser.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johnson misses with a looping left.
Johnson tries to clinch but Bones is having none of it.
Bones slips a jab and a cross from Johnson.
Bones displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Johnson throws out the jab.
Johnson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Stig Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Bones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bones wants to clinch but Johnson slips to the side

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Bones gets back to full guard.

Bones wants to stand and escape but Johnson is having none of it.
Bones is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Bones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bones manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Bones's guard.

Bones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Stig Johnson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Johnson tries for a takedown but Bones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Bones tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Bones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bones.

Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
