Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Lessa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darth Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lessa comes to the cage accompanied by Uriah Heep: Easy Livin´. Paulo Lessa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lessa shoots in looking for a takedown. Vader tries to sprawl out of it but Lessa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vader manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lessa shoots for a takedown but Vader saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vader throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Horrible takedown by Lessa or perhaps it was just good defense by Vader which made him look bad.

Lessa throws a right hand that Vader ducks under and follows up with a left that Vader also avoids with ease.

Vader bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Lessa sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Vader gets to his feet - Lessa follows without any prompting.

Lessa swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Vader counters with a three punch combo that has Lessa backing up. Lessa nods at Vader to acknowledge the strikes.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Lessa walks forward, straight into a front kick from Vader.
Lessa takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Lessa jumps guard but Vader stands there with Lessa around his waist. Lessa gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lessa will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Vader has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lessa regains guard immediately.

Vader moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Vader shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Vader would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Lessa is looking for a triangle here but Vader uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vader tries to get to full guard but Lessa has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lessa is working for a kimura but Vader is defending it quite comfortably.

Vader wants to sweep here but Lessa controlling him for the moment.

Lessa has gone for a leg lock! Vader slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lessa's guard.
Vader controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vader trying to control the position from guard on top but Lessa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lessa can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vader controls the pace.

Lessa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vader doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vader manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Darth Vader comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Vader has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
