The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubenstein tries a head kick but it misses.
Rubenstein swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Higgins to counter with a crisp jab.
No joy there for Rubenstein, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Higgins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rubenstein tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Higgins was well out of range. Poor timing from Rubenstein.
Higgins thinks about countering with a head kick.
Rubenstein loads up on a big right hand but Higgins slips the punch.
Higgins uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rubenstein.
Rubenstein lands a glancing blow to the side of Higgins's head.
Higgins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Higgins lands a slapping body shot.
Higgins throws a body shot but no joy.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Higgins.
Rubenstein drops his hands momentarily and Higgins takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Higgins thuds a left hand into Rubenstein's body.
Higgins looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Higgins lands with a kick to the temple. Rubenstein shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Higgins scores with a nice head shot.

Higgins moves out of range of the strikes.
Higgins is looking to counter punch.
Rubenstein lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A combination from Rubenstein does no damage.

and Higgins counters with a nice uppercut.
Higgins lands a jab to the head.
Higgins scores with a hook to the body. Rubenstein takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Rubenstein lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Higgins lands a nice shot that snaps Rubenstein's head back.
Higgins avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rubenstein is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Higgins.

Rubenstein throws out a loose jab but Higgins uses good head movement to avoid it.
Higgins throws a sloppy body shot
and Rubenstein scores with a counter punch that sends Higgins to the canvas! Rubenstein smells blood - he's punishing Higgins with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Higgins has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
