The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Rossi thuds his right hand into Fontes's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

De Rossi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fontes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
De Rossi passes into half guard.
Fontes wants to improve his position but De Rossi is controlling well.

De Rossi is trying to work for a kimura but Fontes is defending well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

De Rossi wants to work for an arm triangle but Fontes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Fontes is looking to improve his position.

De Rossi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fontes!

De Rossi content to control rather than advance.
Fontes is trying to get back to full guard.

De Rossi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fontes has a hand on De Rossi's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. De Rossi takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
De Rossi takes Fontes's back.
Fontes manages to reverse the position and now he's in De Rossi's guard. Nice work there by Fontes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Rossi has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Fontes should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, De Rossi has tightened it up now! Fontes should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
