Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Corwin Anstey (ranked 1312 p4p, 1137 weight class) and Terry Silver (ranked 179 p4p, 152 weight class). Corwin Anstey could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Terry Silver's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terry Silver!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver connects with a leg kick.
Silver throws a right and a left that both miss.

Anstey fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silver sprawls well initially but Anstey persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Silver wants to improve his position but Anstey is controlling well.
Anstey not doing much here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silver wants to control but Anstey passes into side.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Anstey throws an elbow but Silver slips to the side and avoids it well.

Anstey cracks Silver with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Silver tries to close the distance and clinch but Anstey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've been told by Anstey's head coaches at Sparks gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Anstey closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Silver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anstey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Silver felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Anstey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Silver is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Anstey can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silver is looking to escape.
Silver manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Anstey is thwarting Silver's attempts to control the position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Silver looks to land a left hand but Anstey moved out of range nicely.

Silver feints a jab promting Anstey to slip. Silver then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Anstey slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Anstey looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Silver!
Silver is looking to get back to his feet here but Anstey is keeping cool and he's managed to take Silver's back.
Terry Silver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Silver is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Anstey looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Silver wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace.
Silver wants to control his opponent's hands but Anstey gets his hands free.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Anstey is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

I really don't envy Silver right now.

I would just about give that final round to Terry Silver.
