Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Michel Plutarque!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Greg Pearson!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plutarque is looking to clinch but Pearson is avoiding it.
Plutarque tries to close the distance and clinch but Pearson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Plutarque takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Pearson lands a jab.
Pearson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Plutarque is out of range and Pearson settles back down.
Plutarque is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Plutarque fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pearson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Plutarque tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pearson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Plutarque closes the distance and clinches up with Pearson, looking for a takedown. Plutarque pushes Pearson against the cage but Pearson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Plutarque is looking to clinch but Pearson is avoiding it.
Pearson is trying to counter with his kicks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pearson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Plutarque tries to clinch but Pearson is having none of it.
Plutarque has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pearson finds it's way round the side to connect with Plutarque's head.
Plutarque tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Pearson counters with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pearson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Plutarque tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pearson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pearson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Plutarque moves in looking to clinch but Pearson pushes him off.
Plutarque takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Nice shot by Pearson.
Plutarque takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Pearson connects with a body shot.
Pearson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As Pearson looks to move away, Plutarque throws a big counter combo but Pearson just gets out of the way.
Pearson cracks Plutarque with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Plutarque is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Pearson moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Greg Pearson!
