Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bartholomew Slice (ranked 1871 p4p, 5264 weight class) and Tyres Widforss (ranked 182 p4p, 365 weight class). Tyres Widforss has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bartholomew Slice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyres Widforss!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slice throws a hook to the side of Widforss's head but Widforss sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Widforss pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Slice lands a really nice looking cross but Widforss seems unphased.
Slice jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Slice displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Widforss throws out the jab.

Widforss throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Slice sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Widforss throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bartholomew Slice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Widforss tries to score a power double leg takedown but Slice sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Widforss somewhat.

Widforss loads up on a big right hand but Slice slips the punch.
Slice digs a good hook to Widforss's body.

Widforss throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Slice stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Widforss throws a lazy right hand but Slice sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Widforss closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Widforss is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Slice defends it well.
Slice throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Slice pushes Widforss off looking to stand but Widforss dives back in and keeps control.

Widforss is trying to work for a kimura but Slice is defending well.

Widforss is working for a submission of some sort.
Widforss stops Slice from getting back to his feet.

Widforss wants to work for an arm triangle but Slice is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That was a close round but I would say that Bartholomew Slice will probably get the nod.

Slice got a little sloppy there for a moment and Widforss has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Slice has managed to get both his arms back between Widforss's legs - danger averted.

Widforss changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Slice looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Widforss throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Slice was covering up waiting for the punch and Widforss finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Slice manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Slice is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Widforss can do to turn this around?

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Widforss is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Slice is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Widforss wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Slice, who protects the arm well.

Widforss thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Widforss has hold of Slice's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Slice seems comfortable defending it but Widforss has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Slice is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Slice is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Widforss couldn't care less - he's delighted!
