Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between D.D Panda (ranked 2777 p4p, 1680 weight class) and Ngytsj Diesel (ranked 374 p4p, 248 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panda tries to clinch up but Diesel circles away and keeps his distance.
Panda shoots for a double leg takedown but Diesel sprawls well. He's pushed Panda's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A little jabbing left from Diesel on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Diesel dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You get the feeling that Diesel really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Panda can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Diesel is looking to escape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Diesel wants to hold on but Panda pushes him away.

That's time! Panda's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

No joy there for Diesel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Diesel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Panda jumps guard and drags Diesel to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Panda working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Diesel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Diesel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

and Panda decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Diesel's guard.

Panda might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Panda throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diesel's waist but Diesel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Panda off to one side.

Diesel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Diesel wants it to stay on the feet.
