Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jos Alves (ranked 24888 p4p, 4294 weight class) and Gabe Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jos Alves looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jos Alves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gabe Davis!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis slips under a jab from Alves.
Alves looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Davis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Davis decides to stand back up. Davis steps back and let's Alves get back to his feet.

Davis feints and as Alves raises his hands in defense, Davis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Davis sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Alves tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Davis gets to his feet. Alves looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Davis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Alves is looking to stand back up but Davis counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Alves.

Davis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Davis passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Alves!
Davis postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Alves looks a forlorn figure.

Davis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Davis lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Davis quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Davis but it's paid off an Alves is forced to tap! Nice work by Davis.
