Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Zuev (ranked 2377 p4p, 2577 weight class) and Methodios McIntyre (ranked 322 p4p, 350 weight class). McIntyre has chosen Gallantry as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Zuev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Methodios McIntyre!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Zuev.
McIntyre has taken the fight to the clinch.

Zuev throws out a powerful jab.

McIntyre lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Zuev backwards.

Zuev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Aleksandr Zuev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McIntyre feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Zuev sprawling to the canvas! Zuev rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can McIntyre finish him?!
It looks like Aleksandr Zuev has been cut.
McIntyre misses the shot to the body.
McIntyre looks for the body kick but Zuev saw that one coming.
McIntyre tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Zuev steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from McIntyre. That one must have hurt.

McIntyre takes the fight into the clinch.
McIntyre lands a nice uppercut.
Zuev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and McIntyre finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
McIntyre is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Zuev rather than just go for the knockout.

McIntyre pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Zuev looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
McIntyre throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
McIntyre throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
McIntyre moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Zuev looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Zuev jabbing away but nothing is landing.
McIntyre dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Zuev. That did some damage!
Zuev throws a front kick aimed at McIntyre's knee but McIntyre avoids it well.
The fight moves into the clinch position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Zuev tries to break the clinch but McIntyre is controlling the position.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Zuev tries to get into range but McIntyre steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Zuev! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! McIntyre scores the big KO victory!
