Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Bolleke (ranked 1195 p4p, 1574 weight class) and Stefan Muller (ranked 177 p4p, 228 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bolleke moves to clinch but Muller breaks away

and Muller counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bolleke won't be happy with that.

Muller is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bolleke is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bolleke has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Muller is proving hard to escape from.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Muller postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Muller working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Muller postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bolleke is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Muller, into his guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bolleke wants to clinch up but Muller keeps it at a distance.

Bolleke takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Bolleke tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Muller manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Muller uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bolleke has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Bolleke on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Muller feints with a jab and clips Bolleke right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Bolleke is sent crashing into the canvas and Muller leaps in for the kill! Bolleke tries to get to his feet but Muller is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Bolleke is in need of a savior and steps in!
