Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cyril O Reily (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yago Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Yago Maia was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from O Reily does no damage.
Maia misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
O Reily drives through with a takedown into guard.
Maia is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst O Reily is controlling him.
Maia is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

and Maia counters with a good, hard body kick but O Reily shrugs it off.

Maia feints and as O Reily raises his hands in defense, Maia changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
O Reily is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Maia is in close to O Reily's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Maia is pressing down on O Reily's thigh, looking to free his foot. O Reily is holding on for now.

Maia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
O Reily working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
O Reily has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Maia is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for O Reily.
Maia decides to stand back up.
O Reily bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

O Reily is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Maia will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Maia pushes O Reily away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, O Reily gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Yago Maia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Maia darts in and clinches O Reily up against the cage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Maia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. O Reily sprawls well initially but Maia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
O Reily is looking to control Maia's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can O Reily avoid being mounted?
Maia prevents O Reily from improving his position.

Yago Maia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Maia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
