The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mbeki defending well as Douglas loads up on a big left hand.
Mbeki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Douglas displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mbeki throws out the jab.
The fighters circling - Mbeki throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Douglas misses with a straight right.
Mbeki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Douglas paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Douglas clobbers Mbeki with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Amri Mbeki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mbeki wants to clinch up but Douglas keeps it at a distance.
Mbeki slips a straight right by Douglas.
Douglas just misses with a punch to the body.
Douglas connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

It looks like Amri Mbeki has been cut.
Mbeki has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mbeki closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Douglas's guard.

Douglas has his feet on Mbeki's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Mbeki tries to clinch but Douglas moves out of range.

Douglas lands a big head kick that sends Mbeki tumbling to the mat! Douglas takes a step backwards and waves Mbeki back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Mbeki wants to take the fight to the mat but Douglas manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Douglas.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Douglas pushes Mbeki back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Mbeki shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Douglas counters with a left to the body.

Douglas lands a big head kick that sends Mbeki tumbling to the mat! Douglas takes a step backwards and waves Mbeki back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Douglas takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Douglas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mbeki.

Douglas drops Mbeki with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mbeki looks back up at him and smiles so Douglas waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Mbeki is rocked!
Mbeki throws a jab when Douglas was well out of range.
Douglas needs to keep his hands up - Mbeki had a free shot at his head there.

and Douglas counters with a crisp right hand that drops Mbeki! Douglas lets Mbeki back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Mbeki is still on wobbly legs! Can Douglas finish him?

Douglas lands a nice hook to Mbeki's body. Mbeki takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Mbeki seems to have recovered his senses.
