Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Charles (ranked 5682 p4p, 24529 weight class) and Ridley Scott (ranked 545 p4p, 593 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Reggie Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ridley Scott!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charles avoids a punch combination nicely.
Charles feinted with a counter takedown.
Charles fails to land with a series of punches.
Charles throws a body shot but no joy.
Charles misses with a kick to the body.
Charles looks to score with a jab to the body but Scott is just out of range.
Scott keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Charles takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Scott takes the fight into the clinch.
Scott lands a nice uppercut.
Scott pushes Charles back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Charles is trying to break free.
Scott lands a right hand that snaps the head of Charles backwards.

Scott has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Charles clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Scott tries to get the hooks in deep but Charles pushed the leg off.
Charles rolls, trying to escape but Scott keeps control of the position.

Scott has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Charles.
Scott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Charles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Charles trying to control the hands but Scott breaks the grip.
Scott is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Charles up.
Charles breaks Scott's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Scott is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Charles chips away with some ground and pound.

Charles definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Charles lands a couple of elbows.
Scott keeping moving, preventing Charles from controlling successfully.
Scott controls Charles momentarily but Charles frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Charles will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Scott bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Charles's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Charles is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Charles had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Scott defends it easily.

Scott is working Charles over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Ridley Scott dominated that round.

Charles decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Scott is refusing to be controlled, as Charles sits in half guard.
Scott wants to improve his position but Charles is controlling well.

Scott scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Charles manages to mount him!

Charles is looking for a kimura but Scott is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Charles to get the leverage.
Scott won't allow Charles to pass to mount.

Scott is trying to control Charles's posture but Charles avoids it.

Charles tries to advance to mount but Scott denies him.
Charles lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Charles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scott keeps working.
Scott can't do much from the bottom here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Scott can do anything to dispel that myth.
Scott is looking to reverse the position.

Charles cracks Scott with a big elbow.

Scott has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Charles looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Scott tries to get to full guard but Charles has control of the leg.
Charles seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Charles is looking to advance position but Scott won't allow it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Scott moves into the clinch.
Charles wants to stall.

Charles escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Charles swats away the attempt to clinch by Scott.
Charles fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Scott manages to avoid it.

Scott scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Charles to see if he's OK.

Scott got a little sloppy there for a moment and Charles has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Scott has managed to get both his arms back between Charles's legs - danger averted.
