Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Gable (ranked 2472 p4p, 2871 weight class) and Olivier Aphone (ranked 317 p4p, 365 weight class). Aphone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Enjoy the silence. Olivier Aphone will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Olivier Aphone!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gable fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
As Gable backs off Aphone throws a huge counter combo but Gable manages to avoid it all.
Aphone with a hook.

It looks like Daniel Gable has been cut.
Aphone cracks a nice hook into Gable's ribs.
Aphone scores with a body shot.
Gable uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Aphone.
Aphone ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sloppy strikes from Aphone. Those never looked like landing.
Gable tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Aphone swivels and escapes.
Aphone tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gable was well out of range. Poor timing from Aphone.
Aphone throws a right hand that Gable ducks under and follows up with a left that Gable also avoids with ease.
A telegraphed right hand from Aphone misses the target.

Gable shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Aphone is trying to defend but Gable finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gable is looking for a kimura but Aphone is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gable to get the leverage.
Aphone is looking to escape.
Gable throwing shots but Aphone is blocking nicely.

Gable wants to control but Aphone is keeping him busy.
Aphone looks like he's trying to stand up.
Gable has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Gable tries to pass the half guard into mount. Aphone knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Gable is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Gable is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Aphone doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gable.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gable is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Aphone with him. Aphone is trying to defend but Gable has an arm under the chin now! Aphone grimaces and is forced to tap out!
