PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan McManus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samko Kahric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McManus comes to the cage accompanied by Devil Went Down to Georgia. Kahric comes into a darkened arena with his song building. BHF kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan McManus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samko Kahric!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McManus pushes Kahric up against the cage in a clinch.
Kahric looking to stall.
Kahric can't find room to land a body shot as McManus controls the action.
McManus misses with a hook from the clinch.
Kahric gets underhooks to prevent McManus's takedown attempt.
Kahric has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McManus avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
McManus misses with a knee strike.
The referee calls for McManus to work.

McManus breaks from the clinch.
McManus fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kahric bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

McManus throws a chopping leg kick but Kahric manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Kahric shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McManus as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McManus misses with a two punch combination.
Some wild striking there from McManus.
McManus throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kahric.
McManus circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.

McManus changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kahric looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kahric tries to buck McManus off but McManus is having none of it.
McManus working the strikes but Kahric uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

McManus is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Kahric has managed to free his arm - good work.
McManus is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Kahric is trying to control the position from the bottom.
McManusis looking to pass into half guard but Kahric pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kahric is in guard.

McManus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kahric can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

McManus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

McManus working for a triangle but Kahric defends it easily.
McManus is breathing heavily.
Kahric stands up over McManus, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

McManus looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kahric distracts McManus with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Kahric would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Kahric passes easily into side control. Nice work.
McManus is trying to work for a sweep but Kahric has mounted him!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McManus reaches up to try and control the position but Kahric seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! McManus rolls and tries to escape and now Kahric has his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McManus covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Kahric lands an elbow to the side of the head.
McManus takes a big shot to the side of the head.
McManus wants to escape the position.

Kahric looking for the choke from the back.
McManus manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kahric's guard. Nice work there by McManus.
McManus thows a big elbow that misses.
McManus trying to control the position from guard on top but Kahric is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McManus passes Kahric's left leg - he's now in half guard.
McManus passes to side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

McManus looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

McManus swings around for an armbar but Kahric sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into McManus's guard.

McManus looking for a guillotine here but Kahric defends easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now McManus is on top in guard.
McManus sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kahric's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McManus lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
McManus thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan McManus dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


McManus throws the left hand but Kahric avoids the punch easily.

Kahric closes the distance and clinches.
Come on McManus - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Kahric looking to slow down the pace here.
McManus is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Kahric is keeping busy.
Kahric tries to pull guard but McManus holds him up against the cage and eventually Kahric drops back down to his feet.

Kahric jumps guard and drags McManus to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kahric working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McManus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McManus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

McManus looking to pass the guard.
Kahric manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
McManus is wriggling around trying to escape.
McManus regains half guard.

Kahric is working for a kimura but McManus is defending it quite comfortably.
Kahric is breathing heavily.
McManus is pressing down on Kahric's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McManus is looking for a triangle but Kahric pushes his legs off easily.
McManus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McManus had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kahric is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. McManus Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kahric's back instead.
Kahric wants to escape the position.
McManus connects with a big shot to the side of Kahric's head.
Kahric rolls, trying to escape but McManus keeps control of the position.

McManus is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Kahric with him. Kahric is trying to defend but McManus has an arm under the chin now! Kahric grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dan McManus!
