Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Castiana (ranked 1500 p4p, 1862 weight class) and Marshall Praust (ranked 218 p4p, 273 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ramon Castiana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marshall Praust!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Praust misses with an attempted mid kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Praust. That's going to slow Castiana down.
Praust tries to land a body kick

and Castiana counters with a nice double leg into side control. Praust won't be happy with that.

Castiana working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Castiana is trying to get an arm triangle but Praust is defending well.
Castiana wants to control but Praust is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Castiana is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Praust has escaped the position, nice work there.

Praust wants to improve his position but Castiana is controlling well.

Castiana is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Praust has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Castiana is working away from the top position though.

Castiana is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Castiana wants to pass the guard but Praust is defending well.
Praust has his hands clasped together around Castiana's back. He's all about the action.
Praust trying to control but Castiana postures up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Castiana passes the guard and advances to mount!
Castiana wants to control the pace but Praust is squirming around nicely.

Castiana is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Praust to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Praust shrugs it off.
Praust is trying desperately to improve position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Castiana jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Praust manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Praust defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Castiana.
Praust throws a hook but Castiana avoids it easily.
Castiana shoots in and drives through. Praust sprawls well.
Castiana has been working on his balance at Hilo Workout Center, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Praust.

Praust moves into range and clinches up with Castiana.
Praust has a couple of punches blocked by Castiana.

Praust breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Marshall Praust seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Praust tries to clinch there but Castiana circles away.
Castiana is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Praust can do to turn this around?

Castiana has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Praust avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Castiana is trying to drag Praust to the mat but Praust just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Castiana has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Praust after a bit of a struggle.
Praust has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Castiana is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Praust presses Castiana against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Praust lands a right hand.
Castiana changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Praust fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Castiana tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Praust lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Castiana shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Praust sprawls well. Praust wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Castiana gets slowly back to his feet.

Praust gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Praust has Castiana pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Praust pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Castiana tumbling to the mat - Praust dives into Castiana's guard.

Castiana has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Praust can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Marshall Praust showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Castiana has Praust pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Praust manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Castiana dives in and grabs Praust's left leg, looking for a takedown. Praust pushes down on Castiana's head and hops out.

Praust fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Castiana, pushing him back against the cage.

Praust's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Praust feints and then cracks Castiana's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Castiana down.

Praust shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Castiana wants to improve his position but Praust is controlling well.
Praust keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Ramon Castiana overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Praust slips a nice elbow through Castiana's hands, connecting with Castiana's forehead.
Praust is trying to control the action in half guard but Castiana is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Castiana is pressing down on Praust's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Praust stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Castiana swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Castiana has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Praust should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Castiana has tightened it up now! Praust should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ramon Castiana!
The defeated Marshall Praust had this to say: 'No worries. The Athletic Commission has just announced my opponent has once again tested positive for PEDs, so this fight will be declared a 'No-Contest.' '.
