Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ernest Graves (ranked 64 p4p, 212 weight class) and Olyn Seran (ranked 11 p4p, 39 weight class). Seran is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sound of Silence - Disturbed. Olyn Seran has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ernest Graves's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 39 - 30 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Ernest Graves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Olyn Seran!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Graves shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Seran defends it nicely.
Graves swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Seran lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Graves misses the shot to the body.
Seran keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Graves throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Graves misses with a jab to the body
and Seran counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Ernest Graves has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Graves throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Graves misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Seran.
Seran was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Graves fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Seran to the ground. Graves is now in Seran's guard.

Seran utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Graves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Seran can't keep his opponent in guard - Graves advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Seran tries to get to full guard but Graves has control of the leg.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Seran wants to control but Graves is keeping busy.
Seran wants to get back to full guard.
Seran slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Graves working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Seran's head.

Seran has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Graves is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Seran.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Graves wants to lay and pray for a moment but Seran keeps working.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Seran is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Graves trying to control the action but Seran is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Graves misses with a wild body shot.

Graves shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Seran but Seran pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Seran was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Graves thuds a left hand into Seran's body.

Graves is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Seran's half guard.

Ernest Graves overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Seran is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Graves is aware though and is defending well.

Seran stops Graves from passing to mount.
Seran is trying to improve his position.
Seran is trying to control Graves's posture but Graves avoids it.
Graves tries to move into full mount but can't pass Seran's legs.

Graves lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Seran down.

Seran tries to buck Graves off but Graves is having none of it.
Graves throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Graves scores with punches from side control.
Graves wants to lay and pray for a moment but Seran keeps working.
Graves is really struggling to control Seran but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Graves slows the pace down.

Seran is trying to improve his position.

Seran sneaks back into half guard.

Seran is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ernest Graves dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Graves shoots in looking for a takedown but Seran manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Graves's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Seran! But no joy.

Seran manages to work his way to half guard, despite Graves's best efforts.

Seran has hold of Graves's hands but Graves slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Graves is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Seran is looking to improve his position but Graves isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Seran is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Seran throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ernest Graves showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Graves, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
