PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Palowakski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Fellows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palowakski comes into the arena with Burning Down the House blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fred Palowakski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Damien Fellows!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Palowakski.
A combination from Palowakski does no damage.
Palowakski swings for the body but Fellows moves out of range.
Fellows on the wrong end of a nice jab.


It looks like Damien Fellows has been cut.
Palowakski looks to throw the jab but Fellows is out of range.

No joy there for Fellows, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fellows takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That has opened up Damien Fellows's cut even more.

Fellows misses with a takedown attempt - Palowakski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Fellows lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Palowakski sprawling to the canvas. Fellows follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Palowakski hang on?


It looks like Fred Palowakski has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fellows lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Fellows looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Palowakski with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Fellows is nestled in close to Palowakski, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Palowakski has his foot on Fellows's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fellows works his way back into a safe position though.

Palowakski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fellows gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Let's hope that Fellows has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Damien Fellows comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fellows has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
