The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice uppercut there from West.
West shoots in but no luck this time.
Golubev ducks right into an uppercut from West.
West leaves Golubev with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Golubev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? West is fending him off so far but Golubev persists. Nope, West circles away and we're back to standing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Golubev.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adrik Golubev. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Golubev throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. West tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Golubev is in West's guard.

West has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Golubev has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Golubev has picked West up - he's going for a ride! Golubev dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Golubev is pressing down on West's thigh, looking to free his foot. West is holding on for now.

Golubev winds up and cracks West with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Golubev loads up with a big shot that hurts West! He's pulled Golubev in close but Golubev has postured up and lands more strikes. Can West survive? More strikes from Golubev and West is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
