PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sss Sss (ranked 23428 p4p, 5785 weight class) and Sss Sss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 43 - 22 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 50 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Fighter B with a poor takedown
and Fighter A counters with a nice body kick.
Fighter B fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Fighter A.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter A creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Fighter B sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A lull in the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Fighter A working the head with strikes.
Fighter B is letting Fighter A control him for a moment.
You can see the frustration on Fighter B's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A counter left hand to the body from Fighter A misses its target.
Sss Sss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sss Sss.
Fighter B misses with a takedown attempt
and Fighter A counters with a thumping low kick.
Fighter B is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fighter A sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Fighter B changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fighter A tries to avoid it but Fighter B manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fighter A to the ground. Fighter A escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice sprawl there from Fighter A as Fighter B shoots in.
Fighter B closes the distance and clinches up with Fighter A, looking for a takedown. Fighter B pushes Fighter A against the cage but Fighter A circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B tries a head kick but it misses.
Fighter A throws a quick counter kick to the body but Fighter B avoids it.

Fighter A shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Fighter A seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Fighter A's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sss Sss dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Fighter A shoots in looking for a takedown. Fighter B tries to sprawl out of it but Fighter A keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fighter B manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fighter B thinks about the counter body kick.
Fighter A displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fighter B.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fighter A fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fighter B to the ground. Fighter A is now in Fighter B's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter A not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Fighter B trying to keep a closed guard but Fighter A is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fighter A's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Fighter B controls Fighter A momentarily but Fighter A frees himself.
Fighter A throws a big right hand that misses.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Fighter A looking to score a takedown here. Fighter B is defending well but Fighter A drives through and ends up in Fighter B's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A controlling from the top position.
Fighter B bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fighter A's guard.

Fighter A is pulling down on Fighter B's head. It's preventing any offense from Fighter B, at least for the moment.
Fighter A is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fighter B can do to turn this around?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fighter B slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Fighter A keeping moving, preventing Fighter B from controlling successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fighter B being controlled here momentarily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sss Sss dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Fighter A keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Fighter A fires out a quick counter leg kick but Fighter B just manages to avoid it.
Fighter B slaps away a takedown attempt from Fighter A, before circling back to the center of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter A looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fighter B is fending him off so far but Fighter A persists. Nope, Fighter B circles away and we're back to standing.
Fighter A shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fighter B as he jumps to the side.
And Fighter B responds with a good body kick, but Fighter A manages to step out the way in time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sss Sss. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter A is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fighter B sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Fighter B thinks about the counter body kick.

Fighter B gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fighter B is adopting a defensive guard.
Fighter B is continuing to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Fighter B working a defensive guard but Fighter A passes into half guard.
Fighter B controlling the position for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A is taking a breather. Fighter B says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Fighter A shoots for a double leg takedown but Fighter B sprawls well. He's pushed Fighter A's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fighter A feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fighter B controls Fighter A momentarily but Fighter A frees himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B pulls Fighter A in close to his closed guard and prevents Fighter A from doing any damage or advancing position.
Fighter B looking to control.
Sss Sss has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sss Sss is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Fighter B has his hands on Fighter A's head, controlling the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sss Sss showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fighter A has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
