PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Fish (ranked 4541 p4p, 5386 weight class) and Christof Rollo (ranked 461 p4p, 483 weight class). Rollo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. dis kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Fish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Christof Rollo!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A shot to the liver by Fish. Beautiful body shot.

Fish is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rollo lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Fish has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Fish and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Fish will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Rollo steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Fish.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's time! Fish's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rollo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fish to the mat! Fish manages to get full guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Fish manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Rollo has a couple of punches blocked by Fish.
Fish is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Fish is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rollo can do to turn this around?

Rollo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fish doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fish manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rollo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fish looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fish looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fish!

Rollo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Fish's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That kick from Rollo tenderised Fish's leg. Fish is trying to keep his angry face on.

Rollo cracks Fish with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Rollo wants to free his trapped foot but Fish is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rollo is stalling here. Fish is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rollo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Fish has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Fish has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Rollo changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jim Fish is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fish, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
