Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Riley Jovahn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raul Cabrera!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jovahn closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jovahn is trying to get an arm triangle but Cabrera is defending well.
Jovahn is breathing heavily.
You can see the frustration on Cabrera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cabrera tries to bench press Jovahn off him but Jovahn keeps the position.
Cabrera manages to get back to half guard.

Cabrera is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jovahn pulls his head out easily.

Cabrera actively working from the bottom here.
Cabrera moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Cabrera wants to sweep here but Jovahn controlling him for the moment.

Cabrera has his foot on Jovahn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jovahn works his way back into a safe position though.

Cabrera has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jovahn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jovahn tries to stand but Cabrera is controlling from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jovahn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cabrera has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jovahn has managed to get both his arms back between Cabrera's legs - danger averted.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Jovahn drops back looking for a leg! Cabrera is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cabrera manages to kick Jovahn off! Jovahn jumps back into Cabrera's guard.

Jovahn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jovahn wants to control from the top but Cabrera keeps moving.
Jovahn tries to stand but Cabrera is controlling from the bottom.

Cabrera pushes a forearm under Jovahn's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Jovahn is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Raul Cabrera!
