And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeff Winslow!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winslow scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Winslow throws a right hand that misses

and Avangyan counters with a takedown into side control.
Avangyan working away.
Avangyan cracks Winslow with a big elbow.
Avangyan tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Winslow manages to get back to half guard.

Winslow looking for submissions off his back.
Winslow trying to hold on to Avangyan's head to control him but Avangyan postures up.
Avangyan looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Winslow works his way to full guard. Good work.

Avangyan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Winslow has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Avangyan has managed to get both his arms back between Winslow's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Winslow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Avangyan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Avangyan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Winslow has his foot on Avangyan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Avangyan works his way back into a safe position though.

Avangyan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Winslow is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Avangyan throws a big elbow that misses.
Winslow has momentary wrist control but Avangyan slips an elbow through the middle.
Winslow preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Avangyan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Avangyan wants to control from the top but Winslow keeps moving.

Avangyan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We've been hearing that Avangyan has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Avangyan gets to his feet and stands over Winslow, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Winslow felt that one! Avangyan unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Winslow from any more punishment!

A very excited looking Arman Avangyan rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
In defeat, Jeff Winslow stepped up to the mic, saying 'Congratulations. I'll get you next time.'.
