PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Veigar Kujawski (ranked 2803 p4p, 1093 weight class) and Jake Sully (ranked 354 p4p, 153 weight class). Sully has chosen Hail the Apocallipse as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Veigar Kujawski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Sully!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sully looks to score with a jab to the body but Kujawski is just out of range.
Kujawski misses with a takedown attempt - Sully sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sully uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kujawski.
It seemed like Sully was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Kujawski jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Kujawski fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sully scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Kujawski thuds a left hand into Sully's body.

Kujawski drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sully has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Kujawski has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Kujawski dives in for a single leg takedown but Sully sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Kujawski is trying to break the clinch but Sully is controlling him.

Kujawski gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kujawski is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sully is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kujawski wants to advance to full mount but Sully doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Kujawski is looking to pass into half guard but Sully pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Sully is in guard.

Kujawski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sully defends it easily.

Kujawski has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sully is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kujawski.

Kujawski can't do much from the bottom here.
Sully takes a little break here. Kujawski wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Kujawski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sully is fending him off so far but Kujawski persists. Nope, Sully circles away and we're back to standing.

Sully shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Kujawski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kujawski goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sully has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kujawski but great work by Sully.

Kujawski shoots in looking for a takedown but Sully manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kujawski's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kujawski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sully's waist but Sully gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kujawski off to one side.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sully lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

A jab from Kujawski does it's job there.
Kujawski throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Oh Kujawski is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sully fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Sully is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Kujawski flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Kujawski is out cold! Sully holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
