Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joose Simpson (ranked 5718 p4p, 4275 weight class) and Brayden Abner (ranked 567 p4p, 516 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abner tries for a takedown but Simpson circles away easily
enabling Simpson to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Brayden Abner has been cut.
Simpson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Simpson wants it to stay on the feet.
Simpson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Simpson missing with a left hand there. Abner was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Abner pushes Simpson up against the cage in a clinch.

Simpson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Abner misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Simpson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Joose Simpson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brayden Abner.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Abner tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Simpson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Simpson cracks Abner with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Abner looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Simpson finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Abner is looking to clinch but Simpson is avoiding it.
Simpson swats away the attempt to clinch by Abner.

Simpson throws an overhand right that lands on Abner's shoulder, as Abner tries to avoid the shot.
Abner lands a really nice looking cross but Simpson seems unphased.
Abner moves to clinch but Simpson breaks away

and Simpson counters with a crisp right hand that drops Abner! Simpson lets Abner back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

and Simpson counters with a big left hand that crumples Abner! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

After the fight, Joose Simpson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
