PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between RaeRae Usman (ranked 2431 p4p, 1545 weight class) and Terry Silver (ranked 318 p4p, 217 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Usman might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Yaba Buluku. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Usman takes a jab right on the kisser.
Silver lands with an overhand left.
Silver throws a series of punches but Usman moves out of range.
Usman throws a body shot but no joy.
Usman uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Silver.
Usman with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Silver to score with a decent uppercut.

Usman scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silver can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silver felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Usman is working to tighten his grip on Silver's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Silver has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Usman is really squeezing tight and eventually Silver passes out! Usman breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
