Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Minatay Mibangon (ranked 24270 p4p, 24292 weight class) and Walay Buut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 17 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Minatay Mibangon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walay Buut!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Mibangon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mibangon lands in his opponent's guard.
Mibangon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Buut holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Buut is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Buut controlling Mibangon's posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mibangon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mibangon.
Buut wants to counter with a clinch but Mibangon pushes him away.

Buut drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Buut being controlled here momentarily.
Buut content to stall in guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mibangon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Buut slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Walay Buut will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mibangon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Mibangon fails with the takedown.
Buut throws a half hearted mid kick.
Mibangon throws a quick counter head kick but Buut was just out of range.

Mibangon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Buut is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mibangon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mibangon thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Mibangon is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Buut has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Buut content to stall in guard here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Buut leaves Mibangon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Buut replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Mibangon blocks it well.

Buut drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Buut is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Mibangon wants to sweep but no luck.
Buut controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Buut has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Walay Buut has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mibangon has his hands on Buut's head, controlling the position.
Mibangon wants to improve his position but instead Buut has moved into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Buut is taking a breather. Mibangon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Walay Buut showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Buut goes for a double leg but Mibangon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mibangon continues to drive forward.
Buut closes the distance and clinches up with Mibangon, looking for a takedown. Buut pushes Mibangon against the cage but Mibangon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mibangon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Buut is trying to counter with his kicks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mibangon moves out of range as Buut throws a body kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Buut enables Mibangon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Buut manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Buut is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Buut looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mibangon controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Buut with a lazy takedown attempt
and Mibangon counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Minatay Mibangon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walay Buut.

Buut dives in and scores a takedown into Mibangon's guard.
Buut controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mibangon holds on and takes a little breather.
Minatay Mibangon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Walay Buut is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Buut working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Minatay Mibangon.
Well Buut has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
