The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spong stuffs the takedown.

Spong went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
King swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Spong appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Spong takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Spong slips under a jab.
It looked like Spong was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from King.
We've been told by Spong's head coaches at The Italian Job that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
King tries to score a power double leg takedown but Spong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten King somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
