Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boneius Franknelius (ranked 2864 p4p, 4861 weight class) and CJ Hallinan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franknelius tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hallinan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Franknelius somewhat.
Horrible takedown attempt by Franknelius or perhaps it was just good defense by Hallinan, which made it look bad.
Franknelius misses with a takedown attempt - Hallinan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Hallinan closes the distance and pushes Franknelius back into the cage.
Franknelius jumps guard but Hallinan stands there with Franknelius around his waist. Franknelius gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hallinan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hallinan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Franknelius is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hallinan uses his free foot to push down on Franknelius's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Franknelius.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hallinan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Franknelius looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
You can see the frustration on Franknelius's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hallinan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
