PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rimtas Kentas (ranked 1097 p4p, 1066 weight class) and Sao Alela (ranked 162 p4p, 154 weight class). Alela has chosen Cryin' Like a Bitch as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Alela, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kentas swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Kentas misses the shot to the body.
Alela lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kentas cracks Alela with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

and Alela makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Kentas throws a hook but Alela avoids it easily.

We've been hearing reports that Kentas has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Kentas bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Alela's head backwards.

Alela rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kentas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
