Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Ragout Mendy (ranked 2252 p4p, 3464 weight class) and Conor OShea (ranked 287 p4p, 418 weight class). Conor OShea is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Ragout Mendy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 32 - 1, fighting out of London, Conor OShea!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendy takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
OShea swings and misses with a hook to the body.
OShea throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
OShea fails with the takedown.
Mendy misses with a two punch combination.
OShea throws a right and a left that Mendy avoids nicely.
OShea slips under a jab from Mendy.
Mendy bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
OShea jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
A slow jab from OShea misses its intended target.
OShea takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Mendy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but OShea moves away.

and Mendy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
OShea tries to clinch there but Mendy circles away.
Mendy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
OShea lands a glancing blow to the side of Mendy's head.
OShea tries to close the distance and clinch but Mendy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
OShea slips a jab and a cross from Mendy.
Mendy takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

OShea tries to move into range but Mendy moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Nice takedown defense from Mendy. No joy for OShea on that attempt.
Mendy tries to counter with a takedown but OShea is quick to defend against it.

OShea ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mendy moves away.
Mendy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but OShea manages to avoid it.
Mendy takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
OShea throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
OShea fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mendy on the side of the head.
We've been hearing reports that Mendy has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Mendy is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by OShea.
A telegraphed right hand from Mendy misses the target.
OShea throws a big counter head kick but Mendy avoids it with no problem.
Conor OShea seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mendy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mendy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
OShea slips a jab and a cross from Mendy.
OShea goes for a double leg but Mendy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mendy continues to drive forward.
Pierre Ragout Mendy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conor OShea.
OShea uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mendy.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

OShea gets caught napping as Mendy dives in and scores a takedown. OShea manages to retain guard.

OShea manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Mendy throws a hook to the side of OShea's head but OShea sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Mendy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but OShea moves away.
OShea uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
OShea is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mendy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
OShea is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Mendy had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Mendy drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mendy has OShea pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. OShea manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Despite the aggression on OShea's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Mendy feints and as OShea raises his hands in defense, Mendy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. OShea manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
OShea stops a takedown attempt from Mendy.

Mendy is in close to OShea's body, working some short punches and elbows.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
OShea trying to control but Mendy is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mendy is trying to control the position but OShea postures up.
Mendy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mendy is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

OShea breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
OShea loads up on a big right hand but Mendy slips the punch.
Mendy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
OShea has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

OShea is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mendy is trying to control the action in half guard but OShea is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

A close round but Conor OShea will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Mendy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but OShea moves away.
OShea rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mendy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Mendy shoots for a takedown but OShea saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pierre Ragout Mendy.
I think Mendy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
