Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 21 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Austin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gang ge!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

ge closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - ge lands in his opponent's guard.
Austin has momentary wrist control but ge slips an elbow through the middle.

Austin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
ge postures up and lands a big shot to Austin's brow.
ge is in close to Austin's body, working some short punches and elbows.
ge postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

ge drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and ge jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
ge lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Austin is looking for a triangle but ge pushes his legs off easily.

ge thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

ge working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Austin's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

ge stands up over Austin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

ge wants to get up but he can't break Austin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

ge avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Austin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. ge gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Austin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but ge can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
ge lands a couple of decent looking shots.
ge with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
ge distracts Austin with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
ge sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Austin's guard.

Austin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for ge on the ground.

Austin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

ge seems to be looking for submissions.

ge is working for a submission of some sort.
ge thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Austin's head.

Austin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

ge is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Austin has his hands clasped together but ge extends and breaks Austin's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by ge.
