The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
rodrigues is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

rodrigues shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Oak's guard.

Oak has an active guard here but rodrigues has managed to pass into half guard.
Oak is refusing to be controlled, as rodrigues sits in half guard.
Oak striking from the bottom.
Oak is looking to improve his position.
rodrigues tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Oak looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
rodrigues tries to stand but can't do so whilst Oak controls his leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
rodrigues cracks the inside of Oak's front leg.
rodrigues ducks under a wild hook from Oak.

rodrigues changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Oak looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Oak is not content to let rodrigues control the position.
Oak takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

rodrigues wants to stand but Oak is controlling his arm.

Oak tries to improve position but can't.
Oak throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
rodrigues trying to control the position but Oak is working away.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
A low kick from Oak misses

so rodrigues counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Oak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Oak looking for a guillotine here but rodrigues defends easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Oak has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. rodrigues doesn't defend quickly enough and Oak has managed to lock this one up! Can rodrigues escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Oak on a fantastic submission victory.
